HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 045 RESOLUTICN NO, 45 A iiESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OE' DOWNEY DESIGNATING A CHANGE IN THE PROPOSED ZONING ORDINANCE AND MAP NOW UNDER STUDY. (Zone Change Case #55) THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. 'that the Planning Commission is engaged in the study and preparation of a new zoning ordinance using Ordinance No. 1494, as amended, applicable to the City of Downey, as avid ordinance and map existed on December 17,' 1956. SECTION 2. That after a review of evidence adduced et hearings held relative to such preparation artd study, and after hearing the recommendation of the *tuning reivisor to the Planning Commission, it hereby determines that the sone designations on said map under study, ©f the hereinafter described property, should be and the same hereby are changed as hereinafter set forth. The deeignation.s of zones as used hereinafter shall have the . tneaning given to such designation in said Ordinance No, 1494, SECTXON 3. Said changes in deaignatione are as follows: (a) That the deeignations on said map of the following described property is changed from R..3 to M-1. Said property is described 30: That portion o: Section 11, Township 3 South, Ramp 12 West, of the Rancho Santa Gertrude s cubdividod for the Santa Gertrtadee Association, - in the County of Loa Angeles, State of California, es described as follows: Commencing at the intersection of the West line of Section 2 a said Township and Range, with the center line of Downey Norwalk Road, now latovret as Firestone Boulevard as shown on County Surveyor's Map No, 77 29, on file in the office a to County Surveyor of said county; thence aLong said center Line, South 58 East 1454.79 feet; thence South 28 'West 568. 28 feet to the true point of beginning; thence South 28 West 87. 68 feet to the northeasterly line of the 100 foot right of way. in the Southern Pacific Railroad (Santa Ana Branch). ae known o June 22, 1920; thence along last mentioned line, South 56 :E:ast 471.52 feet to said center line of Downey Norwalk Road; thence along *aid center line, North 0 East 120.57 feet to a tine bearing South 58 East from the true point of beginning; thence North 58 Wept 413.26 feet to the true point of beginning. EXCEPTING the easterly 25 feet thereof within said Downey Norwalk Road. SECTION 4. That the change of designation ae provided in Section 3 shall not be effective until the conditions specified in sub paragraphs (a), (b) and (c) of this section have been complied with. (a) That 5' be dedicated for additional rights of way. (b) That curbs, gutters, sidewalks and paveouts be installed to the standards of the Department of Public Works. (c) That a concrete btock fence not lees than 5'8" nor more than 6' in height above the finished grade be inetalled along the northwesterly property 46 RESOLUTION NO. 45 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DCWNEY CONSENTING TO THE COMMENCEMENT OF PRO- CEEDINGS FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN INHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS TELEGRAPH ROAD ANNEXATION. PP" WHEREAS, on February 21, 1957, Petition No. 1 in the files of the City Clerk of the City of Downey was presented to the City Council of the City of Downey requesting the council to give its consent to the commencement of an- nexation proceedings in connection with that certain inhabited territory therein referred to and generally described, which is contiguous to the City of Downey; and WHEREAS, said petition previously was referred to the Planning Com- mission of the City of Downey for investigation, report and recommendation; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission rendered its recommendation to the council on the 21st day of February, 1957, favoring the caumencement of annexa- tion proceedings. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY: SECTION 1. That consent be and hereby is granted for the commence- ment of annexation proceedings in connection with the hereinafter described in- habited territory in accordance with the Annexation Act of 1913, provided the petition for annexation contains a request that the question to be submitted to the electors residing in the territory proposed to be annexed shall be whether the territory shall be annexed. r■-•1 SECTION 2. That said unincorporated territory be and hereby is de- signated as "Telegraph Road Annexation and is described as follows: That certain territory in the County of Los Angeles bounded on the north by the northerly line of Telegraph • Road, bounded on the south by the southerly line of the Santa Ana Freeway, bounded on the west by the Rio Hondo Channel and bounded on the east by the San Gabriel River Channel. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
