HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 002 - Appointing Harry C. Williams as City Attorney 2 7----- -- RESOLUTION NO. 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY APPOINTING HARRY C. WILLIAMS AS CITY ATTORNEY, FIXING HIS SALARY, AND PROVIDING FOR COMPENSATION FOR EXTRA E'FFLOYMENT . The City Council of the City of Downey does resolve as follows: SECTION 1. That Harry C. Williams be, and he is hereby and retained as City Attorney of the City of Downey effective December 17, I 1956, to serve at the pleasure of the City Council. I SECTION 2. That said appointee shall receive as compensation for his regular duties a retainer of 3600.00 per month, payable monthly; provided, however, that for services. rendered by the City Attorney outside the County of Los Angeles and for services rendered in the preparation of municipal bond issues, and for services rendered in actions in court, appearances and hearings before administrative boards, and in hearings before any of the commissions of the State ofChlifornia, or for any proceedings initiated or undertaken under improve- ment acts, and for special services incident to incorporation and organization of the City government, the City Attorney shall be paid, in addition to the foregoing retainer, such compensation as shall be commensurate with the services rendered. SECTION 3. That the City Attorney shall not be deemed to be on full -time regular duty, but that said retainer shall be deemed and considered as a professional retainer fee. SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and shall deliver a certified copy thereof to said Harry C. Williams. Adopted and approved this 17th day of December, 1956.
