The State of California’s Natural Resources Agency is soliciting applications for the

Proposition 84. The River Parkways Grant Program is intended to fund projects that
involve natural creeks, streams, and/or rivers, channelized or culverted creeks, and
streams and/or rivers. Projects must also involve two of the following criteria:
recreation, habitat, flood management, conversion to River Parkways and Conservation
and Interpretive Enhancement. A resolution authorizing submission of applications is
required.
If awarded, grant funds will be used to make several upgrades to Wilderness, Crawford
and Furman Parks, such as adding exercise equipment and walking trails, upgrading
irrigation systems, replacing or expanding picnic shelters or restroom buildings, planting
drought tolerant/native landscaping and other eligible improvements.
This is the final round of the Prop 84 River Parkways Grant Program, and $30 million is
available for awards.
