HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 09-7168 - Install stop sign on Boyne St. at Patton Rd.RESOLUTION NO. 09-7168 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DESIGNATING PATTON ROAD AS A THROUGH STREET AT ITS INTERSECTION WITH BOYNE STREET AND APPROVING THE INSTALLATION OF A STOP SIGN ON THE BOYNE STREET APPROACH. WHEREAS, Boyne Street is presently designated as a through street at its intersection with Patton Road, under the provisions of Sections 3131 and 3132 of the Downey Municipal Code; and WHEREAS, a field investigation has determined that a visibility obstruction exists at the northwest corner of the intersection and the City of Downey desires to establish a One-Way “STOP” at the intersection to enhance traffic safety. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Pursuant to the authority of Sections 3131 and 3132 of the Downey Municipal Code, it is hereby declared that all vehicles traveling on Boyne Street shall be required to stop at said intersection. SECTION 2. That the Department of Public Works is hereby authorized to install all necessary signs and markings to cause traffic to stop on the west approach to the intersection of Boyne Street and Patton Road. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and forward one copy to the Traffic Engineering Division.
